In the header bar you can click on calendar and a volunteer can see all the needs, and the ones they signed up for are in green. However private needs don't show up, even if the volunteer has signed up for them. They have to go to their dashboard, need responses and then that calendar view shows them everything including private needs. It's a little confusing for our volunteers since the header bar is so prominent, it's natural to click on that and they might not realize private needs they responded to will not be displayed.

Hi July and Emma and good afternoon,
I hope you’re both doing well! July, thank you for adding your suggestion, and Emma, thank you for supporting it!
I have added “the ability for a private need a volunteer has responded to show up whenever they view the need calendar from their header bar” to our list of product suggestions, and I’ll be discussing this with the rest of our team.
I hope you both have a great rest of the day!

I'd just like to add that I would like to see this change too
