We hold a lot of events and often times we need volunteers to sign-up to bring little items or sign-up for an activity at the event. With the current system, we are having to write a full opportunity for each small item needed. We are finding this too time-consuming and tedious.
For instance, we are holding a baby shower for kittens, and we need:
Cake
Streamers
Table Clothes
Decorations
Plates
Napkins
Forks
Juice
And we need volunteers to sign-up for individual parts of the event:
Cake Table
Registration
Kitten Room
Puppy Room
Raffle Prizes
Game One
Game Two
Game Three
Each Volunteer typically brings one or two things and/or signs up for one activity that they are interested in. In the past we have used Sign-Up Genius for this (which works GREAT! for this type of sign-up). We would like to use Galaxy for this type of Sign-Up in a timelier all-in-one fashion as taking the time to write a full opportunity out for someone to bring forks to an event is taking too long.

Currently, there is not a way to differentiate within an opportunity for different jobs/responsibilities (i.e which item they are bringing.), but I can definitely see how this would be helpful for volunteer managers. In the meantime, I might recommend grouping those opportunities together with an initiative, so the goal of having everything related to the specific event can be viewed on one page. If you'd like to brainstorm some other ways to streamline this, I definitely recommend emailing support@galaxydigital.com with some additional context on how you'd like to view this as a volunteer.
I will add this to our enhancement team's inbox for review for potential consideration as "the ability to differentiate different jobs/responsibilities within on one opportunity. "

An added note, when we do have an event and have to list all the supplies and event's needs, for the volunteer to find a need that hasn't been taken they would have to click on all the opportunities to check. This can become frustrating for the volunteer to keep clicking on taken opportunities. It would be nice to have all the little opportunities listed on a single page that the volunteer can view to know quickly, "Cake, spoons, and napkins are taken, but I can bring streamers."
