❖ Heads up! This article is intended for Site Managers. If you're an Agency Manager, click here.
You and your Agency Managers can create private Needs as necessary. When you make a Need private, only the individuals you share the Need with can access it and respond to it. You can share links to private Needs or assign them to user groups—depending on the situation.
Private Needs
You can mark Needs as private when you create them or by updating an existing Need's privacy status. If you want to mark them as private in bulk, you can! Click here for more information. You can even mark them as private and assign them to a user group in bulk in one go. Private Needs can only be accessed if:
- A volunteer receives a unique link to them.
- The Needs are assigned to a user group.
ⓘ So you know: When a volunteer has access to private Needs, it appears with a lock icon.
- As a Site Manager, you can always view private Needs on the front end of the site—regardless of whether or not you're a part of the user group or initiative the Need is assigned to.
- Private Needs are great for use when you or an Agency offers court-mandated Needs.
- You can assign them to a user group to maintain discretion for the volunteers and their court-mandated roles.
How to share private Needs
To share private Needs, just copy the Need Link from the Update Need page!
- You can then share this link in newsletters, emails, etc.!
- Keep in mind that once you share the link with a volunteer, they can share it out too. Be sure to let them know if you don't want them to share the link with anyone else.
- You can also assign the private Need to a user group. Click here for more information about user groups.
