Hello,

I wish we had the option to customize a URL, as when we want to share a specific need link.

With our previous system, we could customize the link to something like https://www.signupgenius.com/go/crisisresponse which looks better than  https://thesheridanstory.galaxydigital.com/need/detail/?need_id=530553

Thanks for your consideration!

Customizing the need URLs would be really helpful for our site too. I've ended up asking our communications manager to make links from my non-profit's webpage that redirect to specific needs, but I would love if I could directly edit the links from Get Connected instead of having to use a work around to make the links more user friendly.

I would also love if we could customize the need URLs. I love that we can customize the program URLs, but having it customizable for needs as well would be great. I often share these links in emails and on other event posting websites, and it looks better to have a nicer link. For emails and some sites I'm usually able to hyperlink some text, such as "Click here", but on some websites where we promote our events and I want people to come back to our site to sign up, we have to type in the full URL because there is no hyperlink option.

This has actually come up before, so you're not alone! We plan on reviewing this internally, taking every voice into account.

To be fully transparent, we will not be able to change team and user group join links because that long hash at the end of the URL is what lets the system know who is clicking the link and what team/user group they are being invited to, and unfortunately we can't change these without breaking the links.

For situations like this, I recommend using a link shortener like https://bitly.com/, which lets you compress a long link into a shorter one while still retaining the original functionality of the link.
Please reach out to support if you have any specific questions.

Thanks for all that you do!

Hi Holly, thanks for reaching out!

I think this is a really cool idea, and it looks pretty similar to the way we create links to custom pages in the software. I will be sure to add this to our list of enhancements, and bring it up to the team in our next meeting.

We always appreciate your feedback, and do what we can to make the software as user-friendly as possible.

Have a great day!
