Add other 'template keys' to a specific template, and more!

Hello!

We've been hearing from our volunteers that it would be nice if the reminder emails (title: Upcoming Need Reminder) stated both the shift start and shift end time.  Currently, the template key, {{need_date}} only mentions the shift start time.  Would it be possible to add the following template keys to the Upcoming Need Reminder email template?

{{shift_start}}

{{shift_end}}

In my opinion, all template keys should be available at all times, to allow for more flexibility and ownership over these emails for the site manager.

Thanks for your consideration!

Hi Allison,

That is a great point I overlooked and makes total sense for shifted needs and the like.

I have added this request to our enhancements board, and our team will work hard to advocate for some updates to the template keys.

Thanks again!

That is helpful to know for some other uses, for sure!  For this case, our shift end times are different depending on the day, so it would be helpful to have the 'template key' eventually so it can adapt to different shift times.

Hi Allison,

I've logged your template key request for this notification! I totally understand wanting to give your users as much detail on the opportunity as possible at a glance.

In the meantime, I can see you are utilizing the Comments field within some Opportunities. As a workaround, you can always add the number of hours folks are expected to work with a end time. Then, anywhere the {{need_comment}} template key is added to the Upcoming Need Reminder notification, that information will appear.

Of course, this might not align with all current comments folks have added to your opportunities, since some managers like to use this area for notes about the opportunity they don't need users to view, but I wanted to let you know this was available if you wanted to utilize it.

Best,
