Grey-out or disappear past opportunity dates on App

This is a small thing, but would make a big difference for our volunteers who use the Galaxy App.  The app keeps all past dates for shifts visible, even after a volunteer has checked in and out.  When a volunteer opens the app it settles on the current date, but past dates show the check-in screen. See screenshot below.  It would be helpful if past dates our volunteers have checked in and out of would disappear or grey out.

Thanks for considering!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to revisit this forum thread to let you know some exciting news! We just released a major update to our volunteer app and it is live and ready to download! To learn more about it, click here.

With this update, we've taken your thoughts into account and no longer show past shifts in a list. We hope this helps prevent user error and that you enjoy the new app!

Best,

Hi Cathy, thanks for writing in, I have recorded your enhancement request here, and I think this suggestion goes well with your other product suggestion about a setting that would allow you to disallow duplicate hours entries in the website and the app, and will make sure to document this post as well!

For the original topic of this post, the new version of the app (soon to be released) will not show expired shifts in the list, which will help prevent people checking into past shifts and reduce the likelihood of people adding duplicate hours.

Have a great day!

There is another reason to grey out the needs that are past.

I had a volunteer this week who thought he had overlooked checking in for about 20 shifts going back about 8 months, even though he had attended them all. He checked in for all of them again. I had already audited and approved his hours for all those months. The result was that I had to go to each one and remove it, because he created a duplicate entry for every shift.

I only knew about it because the volunteer informed me what he had done. Otherwise, I would have stumbled upon it at some future date.

The app should not let them check in more than once. EVER. Nor should an agency manager be able to check someone in a second time - whether they have checked in themselves with the app, or if another manager checked them in, or the kiosk was used. ONE CHECK IN PER SHIFT!!
