Hello,
We have always had a hard time with private opportunity links and team join links. Maybe it's because of the nuances of our use case (volunteers required to create an account and sign the waiver before they can register for opportunities).
People enter their info to create the account and then they e-sign the release form and the next page (picture below) leads them to believe they are done.
This page is confusing -- it says Step 3 of 3, you've set up your account, and also it says "just one more step" -- hit continue. They think they're done at this point, but they have only succeeded in creating an account and signing the waiver. They are not signed up and they're not going to receive the confirmation info. When volunteers are following team join links and private event links, I wish we could tweak this page:
- "Step 3 of 4 Now you can respond/register for opportunities!"
- Or "Congratulations, you've set up your account, final step is to hit Continue."
- Make the "continue" button huge.
- Or make the button say "Get Started" or something more enticing.
Help! We are tired of having to include screenshots to private groups or teams explaining the entire process. There are so many steps and people consistently miss the final step of actually registering!

Hi Holly,
Thanks for clarifying a bit more on what is happening here! Yes, currently when it comes to a user creating a new profile on the site, they will need to click through using "Continue" and then the associated "Join Team" button (and/or "Join User Group" button if the User Group has questions or a description on the join page).
For your request, I can update it to reflect the extra step and explain your thoughts with updating the language (as well as steps number) to be more clear to users. This way, they can understand we are needing to finish up a couple different steps (creating their account as well as creating their team response).
Thanks again for your thoughts here! Let me know if I need to add anything else in particular to our notes.
Best,

Hi Shonie! Thanks so much for your response! I just want to make sure y'all know how many steps users have to complete before they are registered.
To clarify, hitting "continue" is not the final step (Would be SO AWESOME if it was!!). After they hit "continue", if it is a team join link, they arrive at the page below and need to click "join team." For private groups using the teams function, I started creating a custom page with the list of directions rather than giving the steps to the team leader in an email. With the team join link, if users don't hit "continue," they will not end up on the page below and won't be able to join the team.
I have started trending away from using teams because of the confusion -- my alternative is to just have the private opportunity page with the directions and a screenshot of how to finish registering. The drawback is obviously that the organizer cannot see who and how many have registered, so I need to update them.0 Votes

Hi Holly,
Thanks for explaining your issue in our forum! I understand what you are saying, and have added your request as follows to our Enhancements board:
"When users without an account are lead to the site via team or user group join link, adjust the wording of the account creation confirmation page to be more informative in regards to next steps. Currently, the software does not add a user to a team response or user group until the user finishes the process and physically selects "Continue"."
I hope this covers everything! Let me know if I missed the mark.
