We use cookies to try and give you a better experience in Freshdesk.
You can learn more about what kind of cookies we use, why, and how from our Privacy policy. If you hate cookies, or are just on a diet, you can disable them altogether too. Just note that the Freshdesk service is pretty big on some cookies (we love the choco-chip ones), and some portions of Freshdesk may not work properly if you disable cookies.
We’ll also assume you agree to the way we use cookies and are ok with it as described in our Privacy policy, unless you choose to disable them altogether through your browser.
We at Pittsburgh Cares have a reoccurring problem. We get questions from volunteers about an event that is posted on our site by a different agency (not Pittsburgh Cares). We cannot answer the question because the event is not sponsored by us and they cannot get in touch with the Site Supervisor of the event. The Site Supervisor of the event is often not the contact person(s) listed on the Agency profile.
When an agency sets up an event, the "Site Supervisor" field is an optional not a required field. Volunteers could receive information from If it was made to be a required field to create an event.

Thank you for your suggestion, Chuck! I understand how it would benefit the volunteer to know the Site Supervisor’s email. I will let the team know about this suggestion.
In the meantime, you could consider sending out an email blast to all agency managers reminding them to add a site supervisor to their needs. Additionally, Need Notifications offer a template key that adds the Site Supervisor email and name, if they need to unregister for the need. Read more about Email Blasts and Template Keys linked here!
