We use cookies to try and give you a better experience in Freshdesk.
You can learn more about what kind of cookies we use, why, and how from our Privacy policy. If you hate cookies, or are just on a diet, you can disable them altogether too. Just note that the Freshdesk service is pretty big on some cookies (we love the choco-chip ones), and some portions of Freshdesk may not work properly if you disable cookies.
We’ll also assume you agree to the way we use cookies and are ok with it as described in our Privacy policy, unless you choose to disable them altogether through your browser.
One of the biggest barriers to widespread adoption that we hear from our nonprofits is that their volunteers don't like being required to create an account.
It would be nice if the platform had an option similar to retail orgs, where users can "shop" for volunteer needs, enter their name and email when they sign up for something, and THEN be offered an opportunity to create an account with their email and pw. Some would still decline, but if they volunteer with the same org frequently, they may eventually decide it's worthwhile.
It would also be more similar to free volunteer sign-up systems and so might enable a more seamless transition for users.
I know our goal is to have a database of volunteers, but if agencies aren't adopting the platform because their volunteers don't like it, we aren't creating that database anyway.
