We use cookies to try and give you a better experience in Freshdesk.
You can learn more about what kind of cookies we use, why, and how from our Privacy policy. If you hate cookies, or are just on a diet, you can disable them altogether too. Just note that the Freshdesk service is pretty big on some cookies (we love the choco-chip ones), and some portions of Freshdesk may not work properly if you disable cookies.
We’ll also assume you agree to the way we use cookies and are ok with it as described in our Privacy policy, unless you choose to disable them altogether through your browser.
We have many users that have died, moved away or have stopped volunteering and we do not want to keep records on them. I believe they are included in total number of "registered" volunteers. We need to keep accurate records on registered volunteers.
Having users set to an inactive status does remove their information from reports. WE do not need this information and do not need them in Galaxy and would like to have the ability to delete them off Galaxy. Please consider making this an administrator function. Creating a list and sending to Galaxy administrator adds cost to what should be a standard function.

Hello there,
Thank you for posting a response, and we appreciate your time!
If you would like to delete users from your site, I would advise reaching out to us in a support ticket. This particular service may come at a cost, but due to the impact of deleting information, we do not allow site managers to process these types of changes. This is something that we can only due the back-end through very specific means.
Nonetheless, please feel free to contact us at support@galaxydigital.com, and we can look into the best next steps for you!
Have a great day!

We really don't want a database with 6000 names in it. I want it to reflect our current volunteers and agencies. 3 years' worth of data is all we need, our database goes back to 2004. Much of the data is useless and volunteers are either dead or no longer volunteering. We should be able to delete users totally as needed..

Hi Judith,
Thanks for writing in! Inactive volunteers are included in some reports, such as the hours reports or opportunity responses for the time period that their account was active and actively volunteering. Once a volunteer's account has been deactivated, they're no longer included in the user- based reports (such as the data explorers), but they are included in a full download of all of your volunteers from Volunteerism > Users. To be sure that you don't download inactive volunteers when downloading a copy of your users, you can use the filter And > User Data > User Status > is > active. When looking at the Volunteerism > Users table without any filters, users that are active, pending, or in the imported status are included in the count.
Is there a particular report that you are having issues with the inactive volunteers appearing?
All the best,
