So you're part of a Corporate Leader Module (CLM) user group—but what does that mean? A CLM user group is a way for a company, corporation, or organization to group employees together and offer them select volunteer opportunities. This is especially important for organizations that value volunteerism and want a way to manage, monitor, and track their employee contribution to those efforts.

What it means
If you're notified that you're a member of a CLM user group or if you are sent a link to join, then you may be wondering what that means. Once you're a member of a CLM user group, you have the ability to participate in select volunteer Needs—or opportunities—to meet employee volunteer initiatives. You may also have access to your group's resume for fast hours tracking and reporting (this is dependent on how the site manager has set up the group for members to interact with).
How to join a CLM user group
To join a CLM user group, you were either:
- Manually placed in the CLM user group by either a site manager or CLM user group leader
- Sent a join link to register and join the CLM user group
Join questions
You may be asked to answer a few questions when you're placed in a CLM user group or sent a join link. These questions are usually meant to help the site manager or CLM user group leader collect important data from new members when they join. If you didn't answer them when you joined, you can always answer them from your profile!
1. Log into your account.
2. Click on your profile from the top menu bar and select My User Groups.
3. Find the CLM user group in the table and click the clipboard icon under the Options column.
- You won't see a clipboard icon if the CLM user group doesn't have any assigned join questions.
4. Answer questions as applicable and click Submit Answers.

If you have any questions about the CLM user group or need help responding to Needs or submitting hours, please contact your CLM user group leader. They are your first line of help if you find yourself stuck at anytime.
Reflection questions
You may be asked to answer reflection questions when you submit hours for volunteer Needs you've participated in. These questions are usually meant to help site managers and CLM user group leaders gauge how their members volunteer experience went; however, they can be any question the site manager or CLM user group leader wish to ask. If the CLM user group has reflection questions, then when you select that user group on the hour sentry form the question appears for you to answer. An asterisk (*) indicates a required field or question.
How to submit volunteer hours
You can submit hours for your CLM user group to help meet your personal and group goals. This can be done through the Add Hours button from your top menu bar or through the CLM Hours Overview button from your profile menu.
- If you go to CLM Hours Overview > select the user group > click Add Hours, it takes you directly to the Track Hours area of your profile where you can follow the same steps outlined below for the Add Hours button.
Add Hours button
1. Click Add Hours from your top menu bar.
- This takes you directly to your Track Hours area where you can submit any and all volunteer hours you've completed.
2. Fill out the hours entry form—click here for more information about entering your hours.
3. Select the CLM user group from the User Groups field under Hour Details.
- Be sure to check that you've selected the correct user group(s) to submit your hours to.
4. When you're done completing each field on the form, click Submit Hour Entry to finish.
- You can always review your hours from your Track Hours area, your resume, your user group resume—if you have access to it, or through the CLM Hours Overview button.
How to view the CLM user group resume
Want to see how your group's crushing goals? You can with the CLM user group resume! Please note that you may not have access to the user group resume if the site manager has disabled it for members to view. To review your user group's resume:
1. Click on your profile from the top menu bar and select My User Groups.
2. Find the CLM user group you wish to review the resume for and click View Resume under the Reporting column.
- Don't have that option? Then this option has been disabled by the site manager. Please contact your CLM user group leader if you have any questions about the CLM user group resume.
CLM Hours Overview
Don't have access to the CLM user group resume but want to see your hours against the group's goals? You can from the CLM Hours Overview area. Just click on your profile from the top menu bar and select CLM Hours Overview. This table includes:
- The CLM user group name
- Your submitted and approved hours for the group
- Depending on how the CLM user group has been setup, it may also include your submitted pending hours.
- How many hours are remaining to achieve the CLM user group hours goal and the % you've completed
- A Copy Link that directs you to the assigned volunteer Needs for that CLM user group
Leaving a CLM user group
If you want to leave a CLM user group, you an by visiting the My User Groups area of your profile. Please note that you may not have the option to leave the user group if the site manager has disabled it for members.
1. Click on your profile from the top menu bar and select My User Groups.
2. Find the CLM user group you wish to leave and click the X under the Options column.
- Don't see the X? Then this option has been disabled by the site manager. Please contact your CLM user group leader to see if they'll remove you from the group.
