Heads up! This article is intended for agency managers. If you're a site manager, click here.

Do you have a volunteer Need that you want to remove or close? You can always deactivate it by changing its status from Active to Inactive! You might want to change the status of a Need to Inactive if:

  • You plan to recreate it in the future.
  • You want to remove it before volunteers respond to it.
  • It was canceled.
  • It was a one-time need that didn't have any hours submitted to it and won't be recreated in the future.

So you know:

  • If you'd like to have a deactivated Need changed back to Active, you can either:
  • If the Need has submitted hours, then those hours still appear to you and the volunteers that submitted them.

Here we cover:

Deactivating Needs

There are a couple of ways you can deactivate a Need from your agency:

Option 1

1. Go to My Agency > Needs

2. Check the box under the ID column beside the Need(s) you wish to deactivate.

  • You can deactivate as many Needs as you'd like with this option.

3. Click the trashcan icon beside Actions

4. A popup appears asking you to confirm your selection.

  • Click Yes to confirm or No to cancel.

Option 2

1. Go to My Agency > Needs

2. Select the Need you wish to deactivate.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the Update Need page and click Deactivate Need

  • You can only deactivate the selected Need with this option.

4. A popup appears asking you to confirm your selection.

  • Click Yes to confirm or No to cancel.

So you know: Since deactivated Needs won't appear on the site, volunteers won't be able to respond to them.

How to review inactive Needs

If you'd like to review your inactive Needs, click Show Inactive beside Actions on the Manage Needs page.

  • From there you can always clone the Need if you'd like to make it active again.
